Junsin Yi

As a president of the Korean Society for New and Renewable Energy (KSNRE), I am honored to welcome you to the 11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Renewable Energy (AFORE 2022). AFORE 2022 will be held RAMADA PLAZA JEJU, Jeju, the Republic of Korea during September 27th ~ October 1st, 2022. Assuming COVID-19 pandemic situation will be overcome by the middle of 2022, we will offer AFORE 2022 participation option for on-site participation for global participants. If the situation is not favorable, the AFORE 2022 will be changed to the hybrid type of on- and off-site conference. All participants are very much welcomed to this informative conference which covers various kinds of issues concerning new and renewable energy.

Specifically, solar cell, wind, Bio, thermal, water, tide, materials, fabrication processes, modules, peripheral devices, systems as well as energy-related policies such as RPS, REC, RE100, Carbon-free, Net zero, and Green new deal.

I am sure we can meet your various needs. As the global effort dedicated to green growth and low-carbon society has opened a new era for renewable energy technology. There has been a great amount of investment in renewable energy technology and subsequent technical break though. The sharing of new ideas and information in an open forum will allow even greater progress to be made in renewable energy technology research and development. For all the papers at the 11th AFORE conference, the authors may submit the manuscript to many SCIE-listed journals. For those who wish to publish their papers, authors must follow the recommended journal publication guidelines. All the submitted papers will be subjected to the targeted journal reviewing process. Publication fees will vary based on each journal policy.

I am sure that AFORE 2022 can be the global leader in the renewable energy community through its interest and active participation of renewable energy specialist groups and interested people from various research centers, universities, and industries. The organizing and scientific committee board will set up a high-quality program based on abstracts submitted from all over the world and will create an inspiring atmosphere to stimulate the exchange of scientific and technological information between you and your colleagues and make AFORE 2022 successful.

Thank you.

Chang-Keun Yi

Dear all Participants,

The 11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Renewable Energy (AFORE 2022) is excited to invite you to join us to Jeju Island where the energy transformation by renewable energies has been actively occurred in South Korea. AFORE 2022 will be held at RAMADA PLAZA JEJU, Jeju Island in South Korea from the 27th day of September to the 1st day of October in 2022. During the days, you will have the opportunities to explore next-generation energy transition technologies to meet net-zero emissions targets. And you will have chances to take part in special sessions to hone your skills in these fast-growing sectors with world renowned experts, scholars, industry leaders and opinion leaders in new and renewable energy areas.

The world has suffered the lockdown and restrictions due to the coronavirus for over two years, and many international conferences and forums have been canceled or postponed. However, the Korean Society for New and Renewable Energy (KSNRE) successfully held AFORE 2021 offline and online in 2021 despite lingering COVID-19 woes. We are preparing a more developed and better-planned international event in 2022 based on our experiences. The forum will be conducted through on-site oral and poster presentations, and we are also preparing on- and offline event as a contingency plan to deal with the situation that may be caused by the COVID-19.

AFORE 2022 is a multi-disciplinary international forum hosted by KSNRE. Since its first event in 2011, AFORE has been providing a convenient platform for a cooperative network among experts working in renewable energy to solve global issues related to energy transition and environmental energy, both in the Asia-Pacific region and globally. The forum will cover all aspects of renewable energy and new energy, such as solar photovoltaic, wind energy, bioenergy, hydrogen, fuel cell, solar thermal, waste energy, geothermal energy, marine energy, water-energy nexus, tide, energy storage, low carbon technologies, carbon capture utilization and storage as well as policies, regulations & commercialization. Also, the forum is a really good place to create new business opportunities through convergence between various technical fields and to solve problems caused by convergence between sectors, compared with other specific specialties. And you will gain insight into the growing number of renewable energy projects and new innovations. You will also understand the economic fundamentals and key business indicators for renewable energy that can be applied across industries.

We hope that you will join us for the outstanding technology forum and you will take some extra time to enjoy the picturesque Jeju Island as well.

The 11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Renewable Energy

Dr. Hyun-Goo Kim Program Committee Chair of AFORE 2022

Hyun-Goo Kim

Dear AFORE 2022 participants,

On behalf of the Program Committee, I welcome you to the 11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Renewable Energy (AFORE 2022) to be held on the picturesque Jeju island of Korea.

The theme of this particular conference is a comprehensive discussion on “Pathways to Carbon Neutrality 2050”.

It is too obvious that new and renewable energy is a key means of achieving carbon neutrality.

However, various obstacles are inevitably expected in the transition to a green hydrogen-based energy economy produced by renewable energy.

In other words, in order to nurture a new energy industry by overcoming technological, social, and policy hurdles and securing economic feasibility in the pathway to carbon neutrality, industry-academia-politics experts in all new and renewable energy fields must share a vision and gather ideas.

In this respect, AFORE 2022 is very timely and is expected to provide important technical information exchange and professional networking opportunities.

I really appreciate for your contribution to make this forum successful and also hope that you would bring home good memories of Korea.

Hyun-Goo Kim, Ph.D. Program Committee Chair of AFORE 2022
