Dear AFORE 2024 participants, 

On behalf of the Organization Committee, I would like to welcome you to the 14th Asia Pacific Renewable Energy Forum (AFORE 2024) from Nov. 5 to Nov. 9, 2024, in the Jeju Island, Korea. It is a meaningful to host AFORE in Jeju island as UNESCO designated Jeju a Biosphere reserve in 2002, a World Natural Heritage site in 2007 and it received Global Geopark Network certificates in 2010. It is the only area in the world that has achieved these three accolades at the same time. Jeju benefits from a wide range of ecological and geological features.

AFORE 2024 is the multi-disciplinary international forum being hosted by KSNRE (Korean Society of New and Renewable Energy) that will cover various topics on new and renewable energies including solar photovoltaic, onshore and offshore wind energies, bioenergy, hydrogen, fuel cell, solar thermal, waste energy, geothermal energy, ocean energy, energy storage, low carbon technologies, carbon capture utilization and storage as well as policies, regulations and commercialization.

The forum will provide you with not only the innovative research activities but also new business opportunities through convergence between various technical fields. The special and subject session program will also help you in gaining insight of the trend of recent researches and projects and also in understanding the application of combined technologies across industries with multiple energy resources.

AFORE has been providing a convenient platform for a cooperative network among experts working in renewable energy to solve global issues related to energy transition and environmental energy, both in the Asia-Pacific region and globally since its foundation in 2011.

During the forum period, you will have the opportunity to explore next-generation energy transition technologies to meet net-zero emissions targets and will build a networking with renowned experts, scholars, industry leaders in the renewable energy areas.

I would like to give thanks to all participants in AFORE 2024 and the special thanks to Prof. Seacheon Oh, the program chair and Dr. Jihye Gwak for their contributions and dedications to prepare for this international forum.

Since its launch in 2011, AFORE has grown to be recognized as one of the largest and most well-known renewable energy conferences in Asia.
